Never Ever After

As children we are taught that the myth of “happily ever after” endings are possible.  The idea of a prince on a white horse saving the day stays with girls into adulthood, even if just as a fleeting possibility.  Unfortunately, happily ever after rarely applies to reality.  Growing up in an unstable and dysfunctional environment can lend to a desire to be part of your own fairytale- a desire for the happy ending, one that never comes.  Never Ever After is a series that consists of photographic documentations of crime scenes.  The crime scenes explore alternate endings to time-honored fairytales.  Each scene has been constructed using miniatures and hand-built sets.  These images act as a morbid dose of reality, in essence breaking the cycle of innocent hope.
